Walter 90 – 91

Walter Van Beirendonck is a fashion designer who is known for his experimental way of making clothes. Van Beirendonck often designs for young people and has developed numerous collections that embody ideas of tolerance and freedom of expression and that go against social ‘normality’. Van Beirendonck belonged to the so-called “Antwerp Six”, a group that was formed in the 1980s at the fashion department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and caused a great stir with its radical approach to fashion design. I made this video clip for his collection WALTER 90-91 . I made 16mm filmloops inspired by the moodboards of Van Beirendonck, and projected them on the body of starring fashion model Kristina Deconinck.
